I recently dined at this amazing soul food spot and I can’t stop raving about it! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel like you’re at a family gathering. I started off with the fried catfish, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The seasoning was spot-on, giving it a delightful kick. For my main course, I had the smothered pork chops, and they were seriously some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The gravy was rich and flavorful, just like my grandma used to make. The sides were unbeatable, too—the collard greens were seasoned beautifully, and the cornbread was moist and fluffy. I did notice that the service was a little on the slow side, especially during peak hours, but the staff was friendly, which made up for it. Overall, this spot is a gem for anyone craving authentic soul food. I can’t wait to go back and try their famous macaroni and cheese next time!

The accompanying rice and gravy were a match made in heaven, soaking up all the delicious flavors. I also couldn't resist trying the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and they were crispy and tangy, just how I love them! One of the highlights of my visit was the dessert menu. The sweet potato pie was heavenly—perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. The only minor hiccup was that there seemed to be a bit of a wait for my food, but the staff was courteous and kept us updated, which made the wait much more pleasant.
